Mapping for Defence (1967)

Top of page

Shows how maps of the highest degree of accuracy are produced from overlapping aerial photographs and readings taken from the air and on the ground. The area being mapped is a tract of land in northern Canada. The film follows the entire process at mapping headquarters, where survey information is translated, using instruments of the greatest delicacy and precision, into colour maps that show every important physical feature.
