Quebec in Silence
The paintings and style of Jean-Paul Lemieux, who put on canvas his feelings about and observations of the Québec rural scene during the period between the First and Second World Wars. His pictures show a Québec of close-knit families, orderly villages and community life centred largely on the church. It is a quiet, peaceful world of another time, and the film captured it, for the most part, without commentary.
