The Salmon's Struggle for Survival
How a dilemma facing fisheries authorities on Canada's west coast is being met and overcome. There is a need, on the one hand, to use the swift-flowing waters of the Fraser and other British Columbia rivers for industrial and public uses and, on the other, to keep them uncontaminated and unobstructed so as not to impede the Pacific salmon in their annual upstream migration to freshwater spawning grounds. The film shows fish ladders and other innovations.
