Big Day for Beechy

Top of page

Beechy is one of several small towns in southwest Saskatchewan that have relied on the movement of the wheat harvest to market for their livelihood. Big Day for Beechy tells of the revitalization of this particular town due to the federal government Department of Transport's program to rebuild over 2000 miles of railroad branch lines. The economy of the area received a much-needed boost and the benefits of the project are shown to have spread far beyond the prairies.
