Description
Modern farming practices are changing the long-term productivity of our most important resource, the soil. The film traces the depletion of our soil's fertility by a century of cultivation, the problems of wind and water erosion, salinization and loss of organic materials. It explores soil and crop management techniques--such as zero or minimum tillage, irrigation, and discontinuous cropping--that are now being used to save our ailing soil.
