A film visit to one of the many tiny islands that dot the broad St. Lawrence River. Waystation for flocks of snow geese and other migratory birds, Crane Island--Île-aux-Grues--attracts hundreds of sportsmen. The camera accompanies such a party and shows the daily life of the French-Canadian inhabitants who find a hardy but wholesome existence farming on the island's bountiful lowlands.
