Marshland Pasture

Top of page

How marsh areas along the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia were reclaimed for hay crops and pasture. The film shows how tide gates, a sluiceway and dikes were constructed on the Shepody River to block seawater from otherwise fertile land. The result is a reclaimed area of over 5000 acres.
