Montreal Fire Department

Top of page

In this film we see the operations of a big-city fire department from the first clang of an alarm, through the dispatch of fire trucks and men, to the fighting of a fire. Fred Davis interviews Montréal's fire chief who illustrates, on a map of the city, how fire equipment is deployed in the case of a major alarm. One sequence of the film follows the training of a rookie fireman in the skills he must master to save life and property.
