Memoirs of an Everyday War

Top of page

In Memoirs of an Everyday War, the ordinary people of Chile speak about the virtual state of siege in which General Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship has placed the country since the overthrow of the Allende government in 1973. They talk openly about their defiance and decision to protest despite the threats of internal exile, arrest, torture and assassination; about the consequences of their actions; and their determination to bring about the fall of Pinochet's dictatorship and to restore internal peace to Chile.
