The animated films in this compilation have all either won or been nominated for an Academy Award. The video includes McLaren's classic Neighbours (Oscar, 1953), about two people who come to blows over the possession of a flower (8 min. 10 sec.); as well as Walking (nominee, 1970), an artist's observation of the way people walk (5 min. 6 sec.); The Sand Castle (Oscar, 1978) is the story of the Sandman and the creatures he sculpts out of sand (13 min. 12 sec.); Every Child (Oscar, 1980) tells the story of a baby who appears mysteriously on the doorstep of a busy executive, and who is subsequently bounced from household to household down the block (6 min. 13 sec.); The House that Jack Built: (nominee, 1968) is about a fellow who builds his house in the best suburb he can afford and then aches to be somewhere better (8 min. 2 sec.); Special Delivery (Oscar, 1979) tells what happens when Ralph neglects to shovel his walk (7 min. 7 sec.); and The Street (nominee, 1977) in which the reactions of a family to a dying grandmother are portrayed (10 min. 12 sec.).
