A Letter from Oxford

Top of page

An introduction to England's ancient university through the experience of a newly arrived Rhodes scholar from Calgary, Alberta. A little puzzled at first by traditional manners of behaviour and speech, the Canadian undergraduate soon learns to accept and enjoy the peculiarities of his new environment. With him we explore the famous buildings of the university and find that, while customs differ, collegiate high spirits and fun are as common to Oxford as they are to newer centres of learning.
