Two dramatizations of the conditions endured by Canadian Native women. Places Not Our Own: By 1929, the Métis had become a forgotten people, relegated to eking out a living as best they could. Rose L'Espérance is determined that her children will have a better life (57 min.10 sec.). The Wake: Set in contemporary Alberta, this is the story of a love affair between a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer and a feisty Métis woman.
