The Trail to the Pacific
Top of page
Description
No matter that the Beauchamps, the Courtois and the Beaulieus were illiterate; to this day, the waves of the Pacific carry the memory of these voyageurs' historic odyssey in search of the route to the West. Their journey is evoked in paintings as the stroke of the paddles and the songs of the voyageurs who accompanied the great explorers--MacKenzie, Thompson, Fraser--resound again across foaming rivers and echo from the mountains.
