Pandosy, Father of the Okanagan

Top of page

Pandosy spent thirty years among the native peoples of Canada. The challenges that he met form the background to the story of Anse-au-Sable: the founding of his first mission in 1860, the conversion of the natives, the establishment of a francophone community, and the planting of the first apple orchard in the rich soil of the Okanagan Valley.
