In 1980, less than five percent of Third World children under the age of one were being vaccinated against six deadly childhood diseases. In 1985, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and other agencies, joined forces and set a goal to immunize eighty percent of children by the year 1990. Here is the uplifting story of an international campaign to immunize the world's children against polio, measles, tuberculosis, whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus.
