Nine videos documenting Inuit resilience in the change from nomadic to settled life. Volume 2 contains: The Last Days of Okak (23 min. 48 sec.) In 1918 the missionary ship Harmony sails into the northern Labrador settlement of Okak, bringing supplies--and influenza. By the time the town was abandoned in 1919, one-third of its inhabitants had perished. Also available in Inuktituk. (1985) Unitas Fratrum: The Moravians in Labrador (26 min. 13 sec.) A sympathetic look at the Moravian sect and the nine Labrador communities they founded 200 years ago. The Moravians learned Inuktitut and brought schools, Christianity and new skills to the North.
