Top of page

Nine videos documenting Inuit resilience in the change from nomadic to settled life. Volume 4 contains: The Annanacks (29 min. 12 sec.) This 1964 video offers a unique picture of the transition to settled life and a cash economy in one community--George River (now Kangiqsualujjuaq). Guided by southerners, the local Inuit build homes, start a logging and milling business, begin selling frozen char, and adopt an electoral system. (1964)
