Men of Valour: Heroes of the Victoria Cross

Top of page

1 in 10. That is the estimated chance a soldier has of actually surviving an act of bravery that would be worthy of consideration for the Victoria Cross. Since 1856, the criteria has been met by only 1,354 individuals.

The stories of six Canadian Victoria Cross recipients are re-enacted, each story as its own segment, including the story of the single surviving Canadian recipient. Personal reminiscences, photos, news footage, newspaper clippings, and battle re-enactments are used to tell these incredible stories of valour.
