No Turning Back: The Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples
On November 21, 1996, the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples delivered its recommendations on the status of Canada's First Nations. For two-and-a-half years, teams of Native filmmakers followed the Commission on its journey to more than 100 communities.
How the Fiddle Flows
This documentary follows Canada's fur-trading route of the early Europeans, who introduced the fiddle to the Aboriginal people they met and intermarried with. A generation later, their offspring, the Métis, would blend European folk tunes with First Nations rhythms to create a distinct musical tradition.
