Humanima, the Series (Disc 4)/Humanima - Série (Disque 4)
Description
The documentary series Humanima invites you to discover the fascinating men
and women who are in touch with animals, nature and the environment. The
fourth disc in a package of 4 DVDs includes the following episodes:
A Refuge for Life
Do animals have rights? If you ask Christian Huchedé, the
answer is a resounding yes. An ardent defender of animal rights, he has
dedicated his life to ‘Refuge de l’Arche’ (Ark Sanctuary), the animal shelter
he founded to protect, treat and give a home to abandoned and abused animals.
A Naturalist’s Magic Touch
Pierre Leduc the biologist is first and foremost a naturalist
painter. To create a painting, he’ll take a walk in the forest to observe and
immerse himself in the surrounding landscape. His paintings make us realize
that the nature all around us is as fragile as it is beautiful.
The Challenges of an Untamed Soul
300 kilometers from Halifax, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean,
Sable Island is a land not easily tamed. For more than 20 years, Zoe Lucas has
been studying the island and its population of wild horses. Despite the storms
and violent winds, the island harbours a vast array of life forms, offering
fascinating opportunities and constant challenges for any researcher.
