Bread - Charlotte
In this participatory interactive documentary, artist and social innovator Mariette Sluyter opens the oven door on the practice of making bread. Bread is a web-based project, produced by the National Film Board of Canada. An experiment in human connectivity and interactive storytelling, the project highlights the way bread is a key ingredient of our cultural and emotional wellbeing. It features the unique memories and recipes of six remarkable women from different cultural backgrounds.
Charlotte Yellowhorn McLeaod grew up speaking Blackfoot on the Pikani Nation in Alberta. Her gentle spirit makes her a sought-after teacher in her community. She makes some of the best fry-bread and bannock. Lotte can often be found with a drum, a song and a story.
