The winning project will be on display in Montreal's Quartier des Spectacles in the summer of 2017.

NFB returns to Paris's Gaîté lyrique for the fourth edition of I LOVE TRANSMEDIA
Five National Film Board of Canada (NFB) interactive projects, including two co-productions, will be part of the programming lineup for I LOVE TRANSMEDIA, the digital culture festival that starts tomorrow at the Gaîté lyrique arts centre in Paris. HIGHRISE, Bear 71, A Journal of Insomnia, Interactive Haiku, and Way to Go will be shown in a retrospective exhibition of 12 interactive works entitled 2005‒2015: 10 Years of Web Creation, one of the festival's events. The fourth edition will also include a presentation of student projects and industry panels and conferences. I LOVE TRANSMEDIA runs from October 1–4, 2015.

The NFB at the 2015 Festival du nouveau cinéma
The NFB will make a strong showing at the 44th Festival du nouveau cinéma (FNC), taking place from October 7 to 18, 2015, with 11 films and interactive works in the official selection, including 5 in the running in the three main competition categories: "Focus – Feature Film," "Nouvelles écritures," and "Focus – Short Film." The NFB will also play a major role at FNC Pro (October 13 to 15), with four presentations for industry professionals, and one workshop and two animated shorts in the "P'tits Loups" program.

COMMON SPACE? Humans at the heart of technology 13 artists, 8 works in the Quartier des Spectacles
Common Space? is a tour of eight new works displayed at various sites in Montreal's Quartier des Spectacles from October 1 to 18, 2015. It is the outcome of a creative process that merges the talent of 13 artists from seven countries, as they explore the question of humans at the heart of technology. Contributors include: Michel de Broin (Canada), whose Molysmocène will be projected on the façade of Théâtre Maisonneuve; Sam Meech (United Kingdom), with We're all friends here, a trio of works, at Place de la Paix and the UQAM Centre de design; artist Darsha Hewitt (Canada), in collaboration with Nelly-Ève Rajotte (Canada), who take the Goethe Institute by storm with their A Side Man 5000 Adventure; and Sébastien Pierre and Daniel Canty (Canada), who together created Les îles invisibles, an interactive rediscovery tour of the Quartier des Spectacles starting at the Saint-Laurent Metro station.

The New York Film Festival's Convergence 2015 conference hosts the world premiere of the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) interactive documentary The Deeper They Bury Me: A Call from Herman Wallace on September 27 with The Deeper They Bury Me LIVE, an exclusive event co-presented by social justice organization Sankofa, founded by Harry Belafonte. Co-directed by Angad Bhalla and Ted Biggs, this interactive documentary launches the same day, for audiences worldwide, at NFB.ca.

National Film Board of Canada Completes Its Four Golden Rules of Archiving with ASG-Digital Archive

This will ensure that Canada's audiovisual legacy will be better preserved and safeguarded for generations to come.

The NFB at the 19th Journées de la culture.
The NFB is playing an active role in the programming of the Journées de la culture (September 25 to 27), whose spotlight this year is on cinema. Audiences in Chaudière-Appalaches, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Centre-du-Québec, Côte-Nord and Estrie will have a chance to enjoy two programs of NFB films screening in French-one featuring animated shorts, the other consisting of a documentary feature and an animated short. The screenings are intended for audiences of all ages and will be hosted by presenters or filmmaker Serge Giguère, who will share little-known details about the works. The NFB is also participating in the event's digital component with a workshop at the Phi Centre in Montreal especially created for the occasion. Presented by NFB producer Louis-Richard Tremblay, the workshop will attempt to demystify the process of creating interactive productions.

Ève Lamont's Le Commerce du Sexe (The Sex Trade) screening at venues across Quebec this fall
Ève Lamont's documentary Le commerce du sexe (The Sex Trade) will play in cities across Quebec starting September 14, with screenings continuing throughout the fall. In total, the film will be shown in French in at least nine of the province's regions and 15 of its cities-Terrebonne, La Malbaie, Baie-Saint-Paul, Val-d'Or, Rouyn-Noranda, Ville-Marie, Montreal, Cowansville, Granby, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Rimouski, Odanak and Gatineau-as well as in Ottawa, Ontario. Each screening will be followed by a talk, many of which will feature the filmmaker. Several screenings will also feature workers from local aid centres known as CALACS (Centres d'aide et de lutte contre les agressions à caractère sexuel), as part of an effort to raise awareness about women victims of violence. Audiences across the province will have a chance to see the uncut version of Le commerce du sexe on the big screen and get a better understanding of the realities of the local and regional sex trade, in addition to learning more about Lamont's approach to making the film.

Two-time Academy Award nominee Cordell Barker will attend the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival to introduce the Quebec premiere of his new film, If I Was God, produced by the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), and give a masterclass on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. Two other films produced or co-produced by the NFB will also be in competition: Sexy Laundry by Izabela Plucinska (Clay Traces GBR/Fundacja Las Sztuki/NFB) and All the Rage by Alexandra Lemay (NFB). The festival takes place from September 25 to 27.
