Alphée des étoiles, a film by Hugo Latulippe, in theatres for a 6th week

Press release

Montreal, November 14, 2012 - Alphée des étoiles ( Alphée of the Stars) had its world premiere at the Festival du nouveau cinéma on October 11, its first theatrical screenings the next day at Cinéma Beaubien in Montreal and Cinéma Le Clap in Quebec City, and subsequent screenings in Sutton and Cowansville, Quebec. Now it will be shown more widely, at theatres throughout the province. Please check your local listings for a screening near you.

Alphée des étoiles is also in competition at the Festival international du cinema francophone en Acadie. It will be screened on November 22 at 7 p.m. at the Empire Theatre.

Alphée is director Latulippe's daughter. She has a rare genetic disease that has affected her development, but she defies all of the doctors' predictions. In this moving declaration of love for his “little fairy,” Latulippe spends a year helping Alphée learn enough to be able to attend a regular school. Co-produced by esperamos (Hugo Latulippe and Éric De Gheldere) and the NFB (Colette Loumède) in partnership with Radio-Canada and RDI.
