Lapointe Pierre
Many of Quebec Centre producer Pierre Lapointe's projects have focused on young people, including the co-pro Inuuvunga I am Inuk I am Alive, where eight Inuit teens document a pivotal year in their lives, and the award-winning youth-directed «film zine» Salt.
Pierre has produced many popular NFB series, such as Bearing Witness, offering candid portraits of people with life-threatening illnesses, and the NFB/La Fête co-produced series My Brand New Life, where young people from different backgrounds find out what it's like to switch lives. His other series include Transit, focusing on Canada's human and natural geography, and Economix, a fun introduction to economics. A historian by training, Pierre produced At the Heart of the 20th Century, a collection of short films on turning points in Canadian history.
He has served as producer on many of the NFB's education and interactive productions, including the literacy web site The Prince and I.
