Garcia Carles Porta

After graduating from the Barcelona School of Fine Arts in 1986, Carles Porta Garcia taught graphic design for eight years at the School of Art and Design in Tàrrega, Spain. While teaching, he also did illustrations for a variety of magazines (Magazine de La Vanguardia, La Vanguardia Mujer, etc.) and designed the set for a music video by the group Lax An Busto, which won the award for best director presented by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Between 1979 and 1993, he took part in numerous group exhibitions of posters and illustrations. He also wrote and illustrated tales for the Jaume Morera Museum of Art.

In 1998, he produced and directed Entête d'Animac for the International Biennial of Animation. In 2000, he was accepted for Folimage's artist-in-residence program for European animation filmmakers and made Francois Le Vaillant using the technique of cel animation.
