The Faithful Women Series

Haut de la page

This set of four videos documents the first Women's Interfaith Dialogue sponsored by the World Council of Churches in June 1988. Throughout six exciting days, more than sixty women from five continents, representing a cross-section of the world's religions, gathered in Toronto. Together they shared ways their differing traditions affect women's lives, and explored how women's realities and perspectives are changing those traditions. Faithful Women - Volume 1 includes two titles dealing with positions of authority in religion and the reinterpretation of religious texts (106 min. 36 sec.). Native American spirituality and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are discussed in Faithful Women - Volume 2 (107 min. 19 sec.). Faithful Women - Volume 3 addresses issues of concern in specific communities and religious sterotyping (106 min. 37 sec.). Individual participants describe their views on the conference in Faithful Women - Volume 4 (53 min. 16 sec.).
