The Air We Breathe

Haut de la page

It is clear that the costs of breathing polluted air are dangerously high and that the quality of our air continues to get worse. Filmed in urban centres in Canada and the United States, The Air We Breathe takes an incisive look at how certain political choices and social-cultural forces have led to the growing crisis of smog and other forms of air pollution and the steps certain cities are taking for a cleaner transit system. The addiction to cars and the effects of urban sprawl and commuting on the environment, on the air and on overall quality of life are all examined. Scientists, activists and urban planners describe solutions that include alternative fuels, zero-emission vehicles and integrated public transit plans--solutions that account for both the environment and social needs.
