Buried feelings of pain and shame resurface when a man’s past repeats itself. After Richard goes into debt, he must abandon a cherished dream. He is reminded of the time he was four years old and his parents lost their mobile home and fell into poverty. Yet his early years were also filled with innocence, a feeling he hopes to recapture. He decides to head back to New Brunswick to track down the old family trailer. As he delves into his own memories and his family’s, he tries to regain his confidence, put an end to his misfortunes, and learn to embrace life again. Produced within the 2011 Tremplin competition, Our Home is a documentary about the resilience of a man confronting a past that still colours his present.
